Sudden cardiac arrest (SCA) is a potentially life-threatening medical emergency caused by unexpected loss of heart function often due to an abnormal heart rhythm. The main causes of sudden cardiac arrest (SCA) include both known and unknown preexisting heart conditions. During SCA, there is significant disruption of this rhythmic function, leading to cessation of heart’s pumping activity and impaired or complete blood flow to the brain, organs, and other tissues.
