Delhi High Court today told the government not to take any coercive action against pharma companies, including Novartis India Limited and Cipla Ltd, in connection with the notices issued to them for allegedly not ensuring implementation of the revised drug pricing of 2013.

Pharma pricing authority NPPA has capped prices of 18 formulations packs, including anti- diabetic Metformin HCl tablets, anti-bacterial Ceftriaxone Sodium injection packs and devices among others.

Among MNCs, Sanofi Aventis, Abbott and Pfizer are also likely to be affected owing to their sizeable share exposure on anti-diabetic segment and Indian market in general.
