E-tailers have to display total price of goods and services with break-up of charges.
Expiry date and country of origin of goods offered have to be mentioned.
E-tailers not allowed to manipulate the price to gain unreasonable profit and discriminate between consumers of the same class.

These clarifications have come against the backdrop of new provisions announced by the DIPP related to FDI in e-commerce sector last month.

The new rules will be applicable from February 1.
