The Intrusion Detection System (IDS) will detect elephants approaching tracks and will send an alert to the station master, loco pilot, and station manager.

The train, comprising 147 wagons, three brake/guard vans and four engines, was planned between Godbhaga and Balangir railway stations in the Sambalpur Railway Division.
Describing the incident as a minor one, railway officials said it took around two hours to make the affected track fit for resumption of train services.
Railway Minister Suresh Prabhu on Thursday ordered a thorough probe into the accident.
