The Islamic holy month of Ramadan or Ramzan is all set to begin from Tuesday, April 13 while Taraweeh will begin on April 12 after Isha prayers. The moon, which is used to establish the beginning of the Ramadan month, was not visible on Sunday and that observation committees would meet again on Monday night. Very much like last year, this time too the festivity will be bit different due to COVID-19 pandemic. People are advised to stay inside and have to avoid stepping outside until utmost emergency during the holy month due to the virus. 

The Muslim community across the globe is immersed in the celebrations of 'festival of sacrifice', Bakr Eid or Eid-al-Adha.

In Kerala, clerics had Friday said that Eid will be celebrated on Sunday. Bukhari also appealed to people to offer Eid namaz at their homes.

Muslims in Gulf countries have been observing fast since April 24, after the Ramadan moon was sighted on April 23. Saturday, i.e. May 23 is the 29th day of Ramadan in the region.
