India is set to develop its first indigenous electric trainer aircraft, 'E-Hansa', at an estimated cost of Rs 2 crore, marking a significant step towards green aviation and technological self-reliance.
The Stockholm-based SAS airline group said there will be 30 seats available on each of the three flights operated in Sweden, Norway, and Denmark.

NASA took delivery of its first all-electric experimental aircraft from Empirical Systems Aerospace (ESAero) of San Luis Obispo, California on October 2. NASA will share the aircraft`s electric propulsion-focused design and airworthiness process with regulators and industry, which will advance certification approaches for aircraft utilizing distributed electric propulsion.
The regional hybrid-electric aircraft, which will have 10 to 50 seats, are being developed with backing from Boeing's HorizonX innovation cell and JetBlue Technology Ventures.
