Mumbai's Elphinstone Road station on the suburban rail network of the city has been rechristened as Prabhadevi station.

The government has been facing severe criticism over its decision to take the help of the Army to build the over- bridges in Mumbai in the wake of Elphinstone Road station.

Hours after Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis said that the Indian Army will help in the construction of a new foot overbridge at the Elphinstone Road station, several opposition leaders have spoken against the decision.

Fadnavis said he has also informed the railway ministry that the state government and the local administration will do whatever is needed on their part.
)
They warned of impending disaster, and called for preventive action. What did happen however, was that Elphinstone Road Station was recently renamed Prabhadevi Station.
