England-South Africa Test series News
England bowled South Africa out for 274 runs on Monday to win the fourth Test at The Wanderers by 191 runs and ensure an emphatic 3-1 series victory. Mark Wood took four wickets as the home team crumbled in the evening session after threatening to offer stoic resistance earlier in the day.
England dismissed South Africa for 183 in their first innings, with fast bowler Mark Wood claiming 5-46 in his second test back after a long injury layoff.
Coach Chris Silverwood and captain Joe Root must make tough choices in the bowling department before Friday`s start with Jofra Archer and Chris Woakes knocking to get into the side.
Captain Joe Root led from the front as ruthless England took 10 wickets on Sunday to move to the brink of victory in the third Test with South Africa reeling on 102-6 in their second innings. Root claimed Test-best figures of 4-31 and was ably assisted by Stuart Broad and Mark Wood as South Africa ended the fourth day still 188 runs adrift.
England’s plan for the openers to occupy the crease, tiring out the bowlers and softening the ball, was diligently on course as they reached 61-0 at lunch. But 15 minutes into the afternoon session, Dom Sibley (36) was the first wicket to fall as Kagiso Rabada had him caught at backward square leg.
