In a significant verdict, the Supreme Court has held that the principal of 'equal pay for equal work' has to be made applicable to those engaged as daily wagers, casual and contratual employees who perform the same duties as the regulars.
Efforts to close gender gaps in pay and workforce participation slowed so dramatically in the past year that men and women may not reach economic equality for another 170 years, the World Economic Forum said on Tuesday.
