Tottenham Hotspur`s Eric Dier says the culture of abuse from spectators in soccer is a massive problem and authorities need to take stricter action against offenders. Dier, 26, was banned for four games and fined by the FA over a confrontation with a Spurs fan after the London side`s defeat on penalties by Norwich City in the FA Cup fifth round in March. Following the penalty shootout at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, video footage showed Dier climbing over seats and confronting a home supporter before he was restrained by security guards and other fans.

Eric took to his official Twitter account and expressed, "Same club, new chapter." The 26-year old has a total of 239 appearances for the Club, of which, he has scored 11 times. The Jose Mourinho-managed side is currently seventh on the league table with 58 points in 37 matches.

The FA said Dier admitted that his actions were improper but denied that they were also threatening. 

Dier, who was an unused substitute in Tuesday`s Champions League clash against Barcelona, missed Spurs` 1-0 league victory over Burnley on Saturday, with what was initially described as a "virus" by manager Mauricio Pochettino.

The game was built up by the English media as a chance to avenge Croatia`s 2-1 World Cup semi-final win in Russia in July but the game failed to produce any fireworks.
