Ethanol blending News
The phased rollout of 20 per cent ethanol blending in India will commence this April, the Union Ministry of Petroleum and Natural Gas said.
India has increased the ethanol blending in petrol from 1.53 per cent in 2013-14 to 10.17 per cent in 2022.
The decision has been taken to improve production and supply of ethanol under the Centre's Ethanol Blended with Petrol (EBP) programme.

PM Modi said that 10 percent ethanol blending has saved foreign exchange worth Rs 41,000 crore.
He said that it has also led to reduction of 27 lakh tonnes of carbon emission and farmers earned Rs 40,600 crore.
Prime Minister Modi was speaking at a programme on `Save Soil Movement` at Vigyan Bhawan.
The decision to be implemented from 1 April 2023 is done to the National Policy on Biofuels.
The policy seeks to promote the production of biofuels in the country.
