European Super League is back on the charts with the organisers aiming to revive the financial situations in some of the biggest clubs in Europe

Manchester United’s co-chairman Joel Glazer apologised in an open letter to supporters for failing to show respect for the English game’s ‘deep-rooted traditions’. Liverpool’s principal owner John Henry apologised in a video on the club’s website and social media on Wednesday. The founding members were Arsenal, Chelsea, Liverpool, Manchester City, Manchester United and Tottenham Hotspur from England, AC Milan, Inter and Juventus from Italy and Spain’s Atletico Madrid, Barcelona and Real Madrid. Barcelona had yet to comment on the Super League by late on Wednesday.

The remaining Super League clubs are nonetheless likely to be welcomed back to Europe’s established competitions given UEFA can ill-afford to forgo the revenue they bring. Amid the cheers from fans as the Super League unravelled on Tuesday, anger remains. Pundits said the owners of the British teams would not be forgiven despite their U-turn and urged them to give up their interests.

Supporters said they are unhappy with the fact that Arsenal face a third successive season in the Europa League, believe the atmosphere at their Emirates Stadium to be "soulless" and feel "marginalised" by the club`s owners.
