Dozens of Zimbabwean anti-riot police surrounded the court where preacher Evan Mawarire was due to face charges on Wednesday relating to his calls for "stay at home" protests against President Robert Mugabe.

Zimbabwean pastor Evan Mawarire, one of the organisers of recent protests calling for a change of government, was arrested on Tuesday and charged with inciting public violence, his lawyer said.
