Dominic Calvert-Lewin`s header earned Everton an impressive 1-0 win at Tottenham Hotspur in their EPL opener on Sunday, which was the Merseyside club`s first win over Spurs since 2012. Once Calvert-Lewin sent an unstoppable header past Hugo Lloris in the 55th minute, meeting Lucas Digne`s free kick to perfection, Tottenham huffed and puffed but offered little. Carlo Ancelotti`s new signings - Colombian playmaker James Rodriguez, French powerhouse midfielder Abdoulaye Doucoure and Brazilian Allan all were instrumental in the victory.

Everton have signed Brazil midfielder Allan from Italian side Napoli on a three-year deal, the Premier League club said on Saturday. At Everton, Allan will be reunited with manager Carlo Ancelotti, having previously played under the Italian coach in Napoli for two seasons. Allan scored 11 goals and grabbed 16 assists in more than 200 appearances for Napoli across all competitions, helping them claim the Coppa Italia last season. The midfielder has also made nine appearances for the Brazilian national team and was part of the squad which won the Copa America in 2019.

It was the first time Funes Mori played in a competitive fixture since facing Hull City in March last year, shortly after which he underwent knee surgery.

The bookies favourite to replace Koeman, who will also take his brother and former Dutch international Erwin with him to Everton, is Bournemouth handler Eddie Howe.
