Goyal said in the last few years the share of export credit has come down and this is a "cause of concern", especially for the MSME sector that suffers due to demand of collateral from lending institutions.
Bank of India has said it is considering reducing the Savings Bank account rate on the lines of State Bank of India and also the interest rate on deposits.
A section of exporters have expressed displeasure over the RBI's decision to replace export credit refinance facility with the provision of system level liquidity from February 7, saying this will discourage banks to disburse credit when the key lending rate falls.
Currently, RBI allows the Exim Bank to leverage only 10 times of its net-owned funds, which it wants to be hiked to at least 15 times.
