The special CBI court had on Tuesday, 15 February, pronounced Lalu Prasad Yadav guilty in Ranchi’s Doranda treasury case – the fifth fodder scam case he has been convicted in.
The quantum of punishment will be announced on February 21. Besides Lalu Prasad, the court also convicted 74 others including former MP Jagadish Sharma, Public Accounts Committee president Dhruv Bhagat in the case while 24 have been acquitted for want of evidence.
Ranchi's CBI court has convicted RJD supremo Lalu Prasad Yadav in the fodder scam case. This case is related to the withdrawal of Rs 139 crore from Doranda Treasury, in which Lalu Yadav has been convicted.

In the counter affidavit, CBI stated that in the "garb of political activities during the elections, Lalu sought for bail, which should not be granted."
Lalu was paid a visit by Yoga guru Ramdev who said he had suggested a number of asanas to the veteran politician.
Lalu is presently serving the sentence that came with his conviction in the Fodder Scam.
The special CBI court had on Thursday deferred the judgement in the fodder scam case.
RJD chief Lalu Prasad appeared unfazed after his conviction in the third fodder scam case by a CBI court here on Wednesday. After the court pronounced the guilty verdict, Lalu Prasad requested the court that he wanted to have tea.
Lalu Prasad is already lodged in jail in connection with another fodder scam case.
The court also said that Lalu would spend six months extra in jail if he doesn't jail term would be extended by six months if the RJD chief fails to furnish the Rs 5 lakh fine.
