India overcame a strong challenge by hosts New Zealand to win 3-2 in their opening match of the second leg of Four Nations Invitational Tournament here on Wednesday.
India went down fighting to Belgium 1-2 in a thrilling final of the first leg of the Four Nations Invitational tournament at the Blake Park here on Sunday. Tom Boon (4th minute) and Sebastien Dockier (36th) found the target for Belgium while Mandeep Singh (19th) was India's lone goal-scorer.
India kept up the pressure in the final quarter, desperate not to repeat the mistakes of yesterday.
The loss means India will now play Malaysia for the third-fourth place classification match tomorrow.
