Goa Liberation Day, observed on December 19, holds great significance in the state of Goa.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi has arrived in Goa on a day-long tour of the state to mark the 60th anniversary of Goa Liberation Day.

PM Modi witnessed flypast and sail parade. PM will lay foundation stone for India International University of Legal Education. Goa will go to polls next year.

Prime Minister will facilitate the freedom fighters and veterans of `Operation Vijay` at the function. PM Modi will inaugurate multiple development projects including the renovated Fort Aguada Jail Museum, Super Speciality Block at Goa Medical College and New South Goa District Hospital. PM Modi will also inaugurate Aviation Skill Development Center at Mopa Airport and the Gas-insulated Substation at Dabolim-Navelim, Margao.

Goa Liberation Day is celebrated on December 19 every year to mark the success of `Operation Vijay`. He will also lay the foundation stone for the India International University of Legal Education and Research of Bar Council of India Trust.
