Goa opposition MLA Naresh Sawal has made a controversial statement in the state assembly by saying the hands of those accused of corruption should be chopped off.

Goa legislator Atanasio Monserratte, who was arrested for allegedly buying and raping a minor girl, has been granted bail by a local court on Wednesday.

Monserrate has already been booked for allegedly raping the minor girl in March.

Goa police today registered an FIR against expelled Congress legislator Atanasio Monserrate for allegedly raping a minor girl in March, which he said was a "conspiracy" against him.

Goa`s former education minister and unattached legislator Atanasio alias Babush Monserrate has been booked for allegedly raping a minor girl from his assembly constituency, police sources said on Wednesday.
