Facebook`s AI-enabled Portal video chat service currently uses Amazon`s Alexa.

The feature was first rolled out for only audio to Google Home, Home Mini and Home Max products.

Currently, it is available in eight languages — English, French, German, Italian, Japanese, Korean, Spanish, and Portuguese (Brazil) on Android phones.

Earlier, the tech giant had mentioned at the Pixel 2 launch event that routines will be coming to the Google Home in the future.

To get the feature work, sign in with the same Google Account for all devices.

"Google Home Mini" -- a smaller version of "Google Home" speaker -- is reportedly going to be launched for $49 in October.

Taking after Amazon`s Echo Show, Facebook is reportedly developing a smart speaker that will feature a 15-inch touch-screen and will be launched in Q1 of 2018.

Google Home, a voice-activated speaker powered by the Google Assistant for home automation now has the ability for up to six people to connect their account to one speaker and can recognise who is talking to it.

The device, a portable speaker powered by the company`s search engine, would offer competition to Amazon.com Inc`s Echo.
