The new `Save to Photos` button, currently available only for images in JPEG format, will arrive for personal Gmail users, Google Workspace, G Suite Basic, and G Suite Business customers in the next couple of weeks. Now when you get a photo attachment in a Gmail message, you can save it directly to Google Photos with the `Save to Photos` button. The company said that your existing high-quality photos and videos are exempt from this change.

Google Photos is due for a policy change starting June 1 that will lead to no more free, unlimited storage for `high-quality photos. The existing `high-quality compressed photos and videos are exempt from this change and will not count towards the 15GB default storage that comes with a Google account. However, the new `high quality` photos and uncompressed `Original` ones will count towards a user`s storage once the policy gets implied.

Reportedly, it is in testing mode and it has various filters which include videos, selfies, collages, animations, movies, creations, screenshots, archive and motion photos. It is important to note that Google Photos already shows photos and videos with particular keywords and it will automatically show all related photos and videos in the search results.

The transfer will take between three days to a week. The feature will not remove anything from the iCloud Photo Library. The feature will simply make a copy of your data.
