Pakistan has been on the grey list of the Paris-based Financial Action Task Force (FATF) since June 2018 for failing to check money laundering, leading to terror financing, and was given a plan of action to complete it by October 2019.

All these changes are about helping authorities prevent terrorism, Pleyer said

Analysts and reports suggest that Pakistan will remain greylisted till the next session of FATF in 2022 as it has failed to curb terror financing of UN proscribed terrorists living in Pakistan.

FATF had on Tuesday indicated that it has decided "in principle" to keep Pakistan on its grey list till February 2020 and directed the country to take "extra measures" for the "complete elimination" of terror financing and money laundering.
