The Finance Minister, in a press statement, said that the state GST Department initiated another GSTR registration drive in January, visiting approximately 48,000 new dealers and registering around 10,500 dealers across the state.
The government will also issue pending GST and customs refunds of Rs 18,000 crore to provide relief to business entities.
The additional sticker has to be pasted along with the earlier labelling/sticker of MRP, if any. The provision of declaring the new reduced prices will be allowed till December this year, he added.
The functionality to fill the claim form was provided on the GSTN portal in August 2017.
The objective behind lowering tax on these items falling in top slab is to give more relief to the small businessmen and consumers, he added.
Nearly 47 lakh businesses had filed GSTR-1 or sales returns, which has to be correspondingly matched with GSTR-2 or purchase returns.
The extension will facilitate about 30.81 lakh taxpayers for filing GSTR-2 for the month of July, 2017, the finance ministry said in a statement.
Taxpayers were earlier given time till August 16 to opt for composition scheme.
The taxpayers will, however, have to bear the interest on late payment of dues, the Finance Ministry said on Saturday.
As the site crashed on last Saturday, the government postponed the tax filing deadline by five days to August 25.
GSTN is the information-technology backbone of the Goods and Services Tax (GST).
Under the GST regime, which was implemented from July 1, businesses are expected to file the monthly tax return.
