His statement comes after Air India announced a 15 per cent reduction in its international widebody operations on June 18. The move was aimed at stabilising operations and prioritising safety following the incident involving flight AI171 in Ahmedabad.  

Air India Flight 171 Crash: The crash occurred on June 12, shortly after the Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner took off from Ahmedabad, resulting in the deaths of 241 of the 242 people on board. Minister of State for Civil Aviation Murlidhar Mohol has confirmed that “possible sabotage” is one of the aspects under scrutiny. 

The DGCA's order, dated June 20, directed Air India to remove the three officials, including a divisional vice president, from all roles and responsibilities related to crew scheduling and rostering. The regulator also instructed the airline to initiate proceedings against these officials without delay.

Air India's flight AI 159 from Ahmedabad to London was cancelled due to a technical glitch detected during routine checks. The Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner, scheduled to depart at 1:10 pm, was grounded hours before takeoff as a precautionary measure.

The Tricolour is being brought to the Civil Hospital mortuary in Ahmedabad to be draped over his mortal remains. Around 2,000 kilograms of flowers will be used to decorate the hearse van that will carry the body of the former Chief Minister.

 The body of former Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani, who was among the 241 passengers killed in the Air India plane crash in Ahmedabad, was identified on Sunday, informed Gujarat Home Minister Harsh Sanghvi. Rupani's DNA was matched at 11.10 am. His body was handed over to the family.
