Thirty-two athletes are being honoured with the Arjuna Award out of which an unprecedented 17 are para-athletes. The athletes selected for the Arjuna award include the Paris Olympics bronze medal-winning group of wrestler Aman Sehrawat, shooters Swapnil Kusale and Sarabjot Singh and the men's hockey team players Jarmanpreet Singh, Sukhjeet Singh, Sanjay and Abhishek.

The award is given to coaches to honour their outstanding work and for enabling athletes to achieve excellence in their chosen sport in top international competitions.

Magnus Carlsen was 22 years, 357 days old when he claimed the title of world chess champion.

His dream to be among the best in the world ignited when he watched the world championship match between his idol Viswanathan Anand and another chess great Magnus Carlsen of Norway in 2013 in Chennai.

Gukesh started the championship on the back foot as he sustained a loss in the opening round but then the Indian grandmaster made a brilliant comeback to level the final in the third round.

Gukesh, knowing fully well that this could be his last chance with the favourable colour, left no stone unturned as he kept looking for more but Liren kept his cool and traded pieces when necessary to reach a queen-plus-rook endgame that was just level.

With just three games to go, Gukesh now has a crucial lead in the 14-round classical format match of World Chess Championship. 

Gukesh became only the second Indian player to win the Candidates Tournament, after Viswanathan Anand. Five-time world champion Anand's victory came in 2014.
