Celebration of legendary filmmaker Guru Dutt a special screening of his classic movies will be held across India in August this year . These movies will be restored in 4K when get a re-release in theatres. The restoration of movies has been undertaken by NFDC-NFAI.
Indian Film Festival Of Melbourne 2025 to honour 100 years of Guru Dutt with a special screenings of 1957 movie Pyaasa and Kaagaz Ke Phool which was released in 1959. The film was directed by Guru Dutt which set in Calcutta and told the story of Vijay, a disillusioned Urdu poet whose works are underestimated by publishers and criticized for focusing on social issues rather than romantic themes.
