Harvey Weinstein Case Update: The legal saga surrounding Weinstein gained fresh momentum after the New York State Court of Appeals overturned his previous rape conviction, citing prejudicial judicial rulings. 

Weinstein, who is currently serving a 23-year sentence for rape and battery responded in a statement to TMZ via his assistant on Saturday. He said, "THERE WAS NEVER an assault, and NEVER an attempt to assault."

According to the lawsuit, Weinstein said that he was trying to help Jennifer and that he was the gateway to her dreams.

Movie producer Harvey Weinstein was indicted on Wednesday on charges of rape and a criminal sexual act, Manhattan District Attorney Cyrus Vance said, the first case to emerge from a slew of sexual misconduct allegations against him.
