CBI, which is investigating the Hathras incident, has re-summoned the father and the two brothers of the victim for questioning on Wednesday. 

According to reports, Singh, along with members of Akhil Bharatiya Kshatriya Mahasabha and former Union Minister Manvendra Singh, met the family members of the four accused in the Hathras gang-rape and murder case.

The panchayat was held at the behest of a former BJP MLA, the report stated. 

Uttar Pradesh CM has said that a conspiracy was being hatched in the state by politicising the incident in order to organise an ethnic riot. The UP Police had also filed a lawsuit under IPC sections in Lucknow.

Uttar Pradesh Police on Monday (October 5) registered an FIR against Bhim Army chief Chandrashekhar Azad and almost 400-500 unnamed people under multiple sections of the IPC and Epidemic Diseases Act, for violation of Section 144 CrPC in Hathras.

On October 3, CM Adityanath had announced that he is recommending a CBI probe into the Hathras case, amid a growing political storm over the death of the 19-year-old girl.

Considering social distancing and other related norms, permission has been granted for five people, the authorities has allowed only 5 people from outside to visit the gang-rape victim's kin at a time. 

Priyanka Gandhi, who hugged the inconsolable victim's mother, said the family couldn't see their daughter for the one last time after her death in a Delhi hospital and that Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath should understand his responsibility.

The announcement of the recommendation of the CBI comes into Hathras incident comes within hours of Additional Chief Secretary (Home) Awanish Awasthi and DGP HC Awasthi meeting the victim's family at her home.

As per a source from the family, the 3-member SIT team that was formed by the Uttar Pradesh CM to investigate and submit its report on Hathras gang-rape, neither visited their house nor spoke to them on Saturday. 

Saturday's visit to Hathras by Congress leaders comes barely two days after Rahul and Priyanka were stopped and allegedly manhandled by Uttar Pradesh Police during their visit to meet the gangrape victim's family members.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday (October 3, 2020) dedicated to the nation the World’s longest Highway tunnel – Atal Tunnel at its south portal in Manali. The Prime Minister was accompanied by Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, Chief of Defence Staff (CDS) General Bipin Rawat and Army Chief General MM Naravane were also present at the inauguration ceremony.

In the tape, the victim's kin is being urged to speak against the police and the government in front of the media and also asked to wait for the arrival of Congress leaders Rahul and Priyanka Gandhi before making the statement. In one of the audio clips, some unknown persons can be heard talking to the victim's brother Sandeep and asking him to stay at home until Priyanka Gandhi arrives. This audio clip has once again raised questions against the Congress party.

The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) on Friday (October 2) closed entry and exit gates of Janpath metro in view of the protests at India Gate and Jantar Mantar by various political parties, outfits and student unions over Hathras gang-rape and murder incident.
