Battling a deadly disease like liver cancer, Streak was declared dead a week ago but the former cricketer cleared the rumours himself by speaking to media. His wife, on Sunday, confirmed his death. 

Heath Streak, who is a Zimbabweak cricket legend, is still alive. The cricketer confirmed the same after reports of his death went viral on internet. He has seeked an apology from the source who started the fake news.

Heath Streak played played 65 Tests and 189 ODIs for Zimbabwe. He was also the first bowler from Zimbabwe to reach 100 wickets. 

Streak is hopeful he will be allowed to return to the game after the completion of his ban. Streak, who was also the bowling coach of Gujarat Lions, provided details of the benefits he received during his dealings with the aforementioned person. He accepted payment in bitcoins from a potential corrupter and was found guilty of breaching five anti-corruption codes.

Lokuhettige was found guilty of breaching the ICC Anti-Corruption Code.

Heath Streak was on Wednesday banned by the ICC for eight years after admitting to disclose inside information to a suspected Indian bookie during his coaching stints in Zimbabwe, Bangladesh as well as the IPL, Afghanistan Premier League and the Bangladesh Premier League.  

He was the bowling coach of the now-defunct IPL franchise Gujarat Lions in 2016 and 2017 before being roped in by KKR in 2018 as Lakshmipathy Balaji’s replacement. Streak turned out in 9 Tests against Team India, picking up 30 wickets at an average of 29.63 including a best of 6/73. In ODIs, Streak picked up 39 wickets in 35 ODIs against the Indian cricket team and also scored 532 runs with three half-centuries.

Former Zimbabwe skipper Streak was banned from all cricket for eight years after he accepted five charges of breaching the ICC Anti-Corruption Code. Streak has been under investigation for what is believed to be an extensive list of games through 2017 and 2018, from his post-playing career as a coach. He will be free to resume his involvement in the game on March 28, 2029.
