The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has predicted an intense heatwave over the next three days across Delhi, Punjab, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, and Rajasthan, with no relief from the scorching temperatures.
Heatwave conditions are expected over Bihar, Gangetic West Bengal, Odisha, and Coastal Andhra Pradesh for the next four to five days, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD).
The maximum temperatures in central and north peninsular India are hovering in the range of 40 to 42 degrees Celsius at present.
Wildfires have so far burnt more than 22,000 hectares of woodland and scrub in Spain.
Temperatures above 44 degrees centigrade in southern and southwestern Spain and around 40 degrees centigrade.
Roads have been cut and some people evacuated from their homes in the municipality.
