Governor Shiv Pratap Shukla visited disaster-hit areas in Mandi, interacted with affected families, reviewed relief efforts, and assured full support from the State and Centre after flash floods and cloudburst devastation.

Relentless monsoon rains in Himachal Pradesh have claimed 137 lives, disrupted roads, power, and water supply, with Mandi worst affected. Authorities urge caution and advise against non-essential travel.

The worst-hit district is Mandi, where all five casualties and the highest number of missing persons - 16 - were reported.

Shimla-Sunni-Karsog highway has been severely affected and is completely blocked near Devidhar, around 35 kilometres from Shimla, leaving dozens of vehicles and commuters stranded. 

Two people were killed while six individuals are still missing amid heavy rainfall and rising water levels, near the Manuni stream in Himachal Pradesh's Kangra district, officials said.
