Israeli warplanes fired missiles targeting Syrian military positions in Homs and the Damascus outskirts in an attack that killed at least four civilians and wounded another 21, Syrian state media said.

In March, twin suicide attacks at Sayyida Zeinab killed 74 people.

Blast killed three people in the al-Zahraa neighbourhood of the Homs, which lies around 160 km (100 miles) north of the capital.

Syrian state TV says scores of opposition fighters and their families have left the central city of Homs after being evacuated from the last rebel-held neighbourhood.

Fateh al-Sham Front split from al Qaeda in July 2016 in a move analysts said was an abortive attempt to end its blacklisting by the United Nations and Western governments.  

The Syrian Army has captured the Hayan gas field in central province of Homs following battles with the Islamic State (IS) militants, the media reported on Tuesday.

At least nine people were killed in twin bombings that rocked Syria`s central province of Homs on Thursday, a military source said.

Two Russian military pilots died when their helicopter crashed near the central Syrian city of Homs, the defence ministry said on Tuesday, adding that the aircraft was not shot at.
