Heavy rains lashed Delhi on Monday, bringing relief from the heat. The IMD has forecast more showers and thunderstorms in Delhi and the NCR region over the next 24–48 hours.

The rise in temperature over North West India on January 19 and January 20 is likely by 3-5 degree Celsius but no change after that for at least three days.

Delhi Weather Report: As Delhi and other parts of north India battle cold wave conditions, the national capital remained engulfed in a dense blanket of fog this morning which severely affected the movement of trains and flights. Several flights were delayed at the Delhi airport while trains ran late due to the low visibility.

A severe cold wave brought the mercury down to a numbing 1.5 degrees Celsius at the Ridge weather station in central Delhi. 

The India Metrological Department (IMD) has predicted colder days ahead for northwest India for the next three days.

Delhi weather report: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has said. that cold conditions have abated in north India, including Delhi, for now under the influence of a western disturbance, characterised by warm moist winds from the Middle East, but the minimum will start dropping again from December 31.

The IMD said the intense heat could lead to "moderate" health concerns for the vulnerable sections such as infants, the elderly and people with chronic diseases.

The IMD has predicted that the current spell of “heavy to extremely heavy rainfall” is very likely to continue over north Konkan, north Madhya Maharashtra, Gujarat, Rajasthan, Delhi, Madhya Pradesh and Uttar Pradesh during the next 3-4 days.

While parts of Delhi received little shower, heavy snowfall was witnessed in J&K and Himachal Praadesh.
