EAM S Jaishankar, while addressing the UNSC`s special meeting of the Counter-Terrorism Committee in Delhi said, "India will be making a voluntary contribution of half a million dollars to the UN Trust Fund for Counter Terrorism this year".

The situation in Afghanistan has deteriorated drastically since the Taliban took control of Kabul in mid-August last year. A combination of a suspension of foreign aid and international sanctions on the Taliban have plunged the country into a full-blown economic crisis.

Strongly condemning the terrorist attacks in Afghanistan's capital Kabul, India has told the United Nations Security Council that these attacks make the world feel the need to unite against terrorism and those who provide safe havens to terrorists.
