The Union Minister said that the data of June 2020 will reflect the gains with the merchandise export figures touching almost 88% of the corresponding period of the last year.
Imports also plunged 51 per cent to USD 22.2 billion in May, leaving a trade deficit of USD 3.15 billion, compared to USD 15.36 billion in the same month previous year, according to the government statement.
India`s overall exports -- merchandise and services combined -- in April-October of 2019-20 financial year are estimated to be USD 310.23 billion, exhibiting a positive growth of 1.51 per cent over the last corresponding period, said the Ministry of Commerce and Industry in a statement on Friday.
Merchandise exports in March stood at USD 32.55 billion as against USD 29.32 billion in the same month last year.
