On his visit to Germany, PM Narendra Modi today strongly favoured peace over violence in the ongoing Russia-Ukraine conflict.
During Modi-Putin talks, both sides agreed to cooperate on counter-terror and drug threats "emanating from the territory of Afghanistan".
The situation in Afghanistan is seen as a security challenge to both India and Russia.

PM Modi had on Monday (August 23) spoken to German Chancellor Angela Merkel over the Afghanistan situation.
"Modi and Merkel viewed a powerpoint presentation on Bosch operations in India and walked through our innovation and vocational centres where research is done on innovative projects and skill development is imparted to our employees," a Bosch India official said.
