The investments were spread across six growth-stage and ten early-stage deals, while three startups chose not to disclose their funding details.

India is currently home to over 1,46,000 DPIIT-recognised startups, and more than 100 unicorns. 

Karnataka is second with 15,019 registered startups, followed by Delhi with 14,734 startups. Uttar Pradesh has secured fourth place with 13,299 startups, while Gujarat is in fifth place with 11,436 startups.

The company, Skyroot Aerospace has already tested a solid-fueled engine, but the cryogenic engine is even more significant because of the extreme complexity in the technology and the handling of its fuels. Cryogenic is a generic term that can be used to describe temperatures below -150 degrees Celsius, such engines are used in the upper most stages of rockets, which are used for propulsion in space.

The government has introduced minor changes to the startup definition, saying a business not older than seven years will now qualify for benefits under the Startup India Action Plan.
