Because of the prevailing COVID-19 pandemic, the date of JEE (Advanced) 2021 had earlier been postponed A new date will be announced in due course, IIT KGP said in an official statement IIIT, Kharagpur on Saturday (June 26) released the information brochure of the JEE Advanced 2021

The research was led by Prof Mukesh Doble and Puja Kumari, a research scholar, of the Department of Biotechnology. The team is now looking for funds to scale up the process, to conduct further tests and compare the product with commercial offerings. The packaging films (wrapper) are made with polymeric blends containing starch, polyvinyl alcohol, and cyclic beta glycans (CBG). Their composition was optimised to achieve a variant with a smooth texture, flexibility, uniform thickness and good clarity. The polymers used are approved by the United States Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

They also stated that there is no plan to discuss this matter in the next Joint Admission Board (JAB) meeting. As of now, the JEE (Advanced) 2020 is slated for September 27, 2020.

The Centre announced on Friday that the IIT has decided to relax the admission criterion this year in view of partial cancellation of class 12 exams by various boards. The qualified candidates who have passed class 12 exams will now be eligible for admissions irrespective of marks obtained. Taking to micro-blogging site Twitter, Union HRD Minister made the announcement.
