The IMD has issued heatwave alerts for several northern and western states, including red alerts for Gujarat and orange alerts for Rajasthan, warning of scorching conditions over the next 5-7 days.
IMD broadcast stated that there will be heavy rainfall at isolated places over Coastal Andhra Pradesh, Yanam, Telangana and Coastal and South Interior Karnataka. In Delhi, the sky will partly be cloudy with the minimum and maximum temperatures hovering around 19 degrees Celsius and 28 degrees Celsius.
Heavy rainfall will continue in Tamil Nadu, coastal Andhra Pradesh and Puducherry during the next 24 hours, the weather department has said in a release.

Incessant rains and heavy winds have been battering the state for the last few days. Heavy rains inundated many areas in Chennai, throwing normal life out of gear.
