Union Foreign Secretary Vinay Kwatra said that the govt is in touch with all sides for the safe evacuation of Indians stranded in Sudan.

At an all-party meeting on the escalating crisis in Afghanistan, the government on Thursday said evacuation of Indian personnel from the country was its "top priority" as the situation remained "grave" since the Taliban takeover.

Big information has come to light about the mission to airlift Indian citizens from Taliban-occupied Afghanistan. It is reported from the sources that the Government of India had already prepared for this.

The first flight from Riyadh carried 153 passengers, including 84 pregnant women, 22 children and four infants. The flight landed at the Kozhikode airport at 8 pm on Friday night, another Air India Express flight from Bahrain with 177 passengers, including 5 infants, reached Kochi airport at 11.32 pm.

The flight took off from Dubai International Airport evacuating Indians stranded in the city due to coronavirus lockdown. 

The Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) has prepared a chart for the evacuation of over 14,000 Indian nationals stranded in 13 foreign countries by 64 flights in week 1 of the operation. According to the MEA plan shared with the Ministry of Civil Aviation (MoCA) that is set to begin from May 7, an approximate 14,800 passengers will be evacuated from 13 different countries. 

INS Jalashwa deployed off Mumbai coast, along with INS Magar, diverted for Maldives on Monday night, said a Defence spokesperson.

Jaishankar`s visit assumes significance given the fact that it is not common that India`s External Affairs Minister goes to Kashmir or interacts with locals regarding their problems overseas.
