IPL 2021 auctions News
During the IPL 2021 auction in February this year, things took a slightly funny turn when Punjab Kings co-owner Preity Zinta and the think tank of the franchise bought a batsman named Shahrukh Khan. As the cricketer is the namesake of actor Shah Rukh Khan, actress Zinta teased SRK's son Aryan by saying, "We got Shahrukh".
Arjun Tendulkar hit five fours and eight sixes during his blistering knock.
He picked off-spinner Hashir Dafedar for special treatment, hitting the bowler for five sixes in one over.
Mumbai Indians head coach Mahela Jayawardene was pleased that Arjun Tendulkar was joining the defending champions’ squad for the 14th edition of the IPL.
The eight franchises who took part in the auction are Mumbai Indians, Chennai Super Kings, Punjab Kings, Rajasthan Royals, Kolkata Knight Riders, Royal Challengers Bangalore, Sunrisers Hyderabad and Delhi Capitals.
Out of the 291 players up for sale, 164 are Indian, 124 overseas and three players from Associate Nations.
The highest base price of the players stood at Rs 2 crore, while the lowest base price was Rs 20 lakh.
