Kolkata Knight Riders and Delhi Capitals will face-off in the Qualifier 2 in Sharjah later on Wednesday. The winner of the all-important clash will then take on Chennai Super Kings in the final of IPL 2021 on Friday in Dubai.

Though Delhi topped the points table, they are playing Qualifier 2 later on Wednesday against KKR with back-to-back losses in the final over in the last league match and Qualifier 1 against Chennai Super Kings.

With this defeat against KKR, Virat Kohli's road as captain in the IPL 2021 has ended as he had earlier announced that he would be stepping down as the leader of RCB after the ongoing edition of the cash-rich league.

Apart from Kohli, Maxwell, and ABD, KKR all-rounder Narine also dismissed KS Bharat, who stole the show during RCB’s previous match against Delhi Capitals by hitting a last-ball six.

Royal Challengers Bangalore captain Virat Kohli won the toss and elected to bat first against Kolkata Knight Riders in the IPL 2021 Eliminator at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium on Monday. Both Kohli and Kolkata skipper Eoin Morgan confirmed no changes to their respective playing elevens.

On paper, it would be a battle between two evenly-poised teams, but overall, KKR has a slight edge over RCB, having won 15 out of 28 matches they played over the years.

Mumbai Indians had to win by 171 runs to displace KKR from the fourth spot in the points table and qualify for the playoffs but Jason Roy gave SRH a firing start and denied the Rohit Sharma-led side the chance.

In the last over, RCB, who were chasing 165, needed 16 for a win. However, the Virat Kohli-led side could only accumulate 11 runs from the five deliveries and they needed five runs from the last ball. This is when Bharat did the unthinkable and smashed a six off Avesh Khan’s delivery to take RCB over the finishing line.

After winning the Orange Cap 2016, 2017, and 2019 seasons with the SRH, Warner hasn’t quite had the season he would have liked in 2021 with the willow. As the cricketer is the namesake of actor Shah Rukh Khan, actress Zinta teased SRK's son Aryan by saying, "We got Shahrukh".

Mumbai Indians' batsmen Suryakumar Yadav and Ishan Kishan have been struggling in the second leg of IPL 2021. Not only has their form hurt MI, but also questions have been raised on whether they deserve to be a part of India's T20 World Cup squad for the showpiece event.

Delhi Capitals all-rounder Ripal Patel, who made his IPL debut against the Chennai Super Kings, was thrilled about the fact that MS Dhoni saw him bat from behind the stumps. He even had a chat session with the CSK skipper after the match on Monday.
