ISRO's PSLV C-32 successfully launched the country's sixth of the seven navigational satellites, IRNSS-1F, in a precise orbit from Sriharikota today.

The launch took place at 4:00 pm, exactly at the scheduled time, with the separation taking place at 4:06 pm. The satellite took off at a speed of 309 km/sec and comprises of seven satellites.

The satellite with a design life span of 12 years has two payloads for navigation and ranging.

Around 20 minutes into the flight, the rocket is expected to put into orbit the 1,425-kg IRNSS-1F satellite at an altitude of 488.9 km.

This will be already the second rocket launch for India in 2016. The first one was on January 20 when a PSLV rocket put into orbit the IRNSS-1E satellite in text-book style.
