Farooq Abdullah is considering taking the issue of making non-local people voters in Jammu and Kashmir to the court. He has also said that giving the right to vote to outsiders will destroy the identity of Jammu and Kashmir.

Due to Article 370 and 35A, neither the people of any other state of India could permanently settle in Jammu and Kashmir nor could they vote in the panchayat or assembly elections. After the scrapping of Article 370 and 35A, now any citizen of the country can exercise this democratic right in Jammu and Kashmir. Election Commission has made an arrangement for that. PDP and National Congress have called it a conspiracy of BJP.

Now non-local people will also be able to vote in the elections in Jammu and Kashmir. The Returning Officer of the state has announced that those who are not residents of Jammu and Kashmir but are living here due to job or any other reason will also get the right to vote.

Farooq Abdullah said that nobody can change the ground situation in Jammu-Kashmir and Ladakh. He said the process of delimitation was a smokescreen to draw a veil over the obscure agenda at work. He said that there is groundswell of anger against BJP and its proxies.

Jammu and Kashmir L-G Manoj Sinha on July 10 gave an exclusive interview to Zee News. He said that the people of the union territory have full faith in the delimitation commission. Sinha said that the country believes that the delimitation commission will function as per its constitutional limits.
