Security forces have got a big success in Jammu and Kashmir. Lashkar terrorist has been arrested. It is being told that he used to provide IEDs and weapons for the terrorist attack.
The Jammu and Kashmir Police on Thursday arrested a newly recruited terrorist from Neehama area of Kulgam district in south Kashmir. Following a tip-off, a police party during a raid apprehended the terrorist at Neehama village. IGP Kashmir confirmed the arrest.
During the search of the jungle area in a joint operation by Indian Army’s 32 Rashtriya Rifle, Jammu and Kashmir Police’s Special Operation Group based in Rafiabad, and 92 battalions of the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), the hideout was busted.
The encounter on Monday took place in Drabgam area of the district when an Army patrol was fired upon by terrorist who lay in ambush. The Army retaliated to the firing.
According to sources, he was trying to hurl a grenade on the ongoing Special Police Officers (SPO) recruitment in Delina area.
The terrorist was nabbed on Monday at Delina Chowk, which came under sudden fire from a truck. An AK-47 and a pistol were recovered from the terrorist. An Army official said the second terrorist had entered a nearby locality and operations were still underway to nab him.
After at least 24 hours has passed since nine relatives of the Jammu and Kashmir police and army were abducted, their families on Friday morning appealed to the terrorists to release them.
Among those abducted, the brother of a deputy superintendent of police is included.
