With the trends of Jharkhand assembly election result showing that the state is heading towards a hung assembly, sources said that senior BJP leader are in touch with All Jharkhand Students Union chief Sudesh Mahto. As per the trends, AJSU is curently leading on eight seats, while the BJP is leading on 35 seats. The magic mark in Jharkhand is 41 seats and if BJP joins hands with AJSU then the alliance could form the next government.

BJP leader and incumbent chief minister Raghubar Das is leading by a very small margin in Jamshedpur East while Congress candidate Shweta Singh is ahead in Bokaro. JMM's Hemant Soren in leading Barhait and trailing in Dumka.

The initial trend for 79 out of 81 seats in Jharkhand Assembly election 2019 shows BJP is leading in 33 seats, while the Congress-Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (JMM)-Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) alliance has grabbed the lead on 32 seats. Others are currently leading on four seats.

The Raghubar Das-led BJP will look to continue for a second term while the Congress and JMM combine look to cause an upset.

According to Election Commission, the counting for Jharkhand Assembly election will begin at 8 AM and will take place at all the 24 district headquarters.

In addition, several allies of NDA, this time chose to contest the 2019 assembly election on their own. Ram Vilas Paswan's Lok Janshakti Party (LJP) and the Nitish Kumar-led Janata Dal (United) also contested the polls solo.

The counting for 81 seats in Jharkhand Assembly will take place at all the 24 district headquarters and elaborate arrangements have been made by the Election Commission for counting at all the districts headquarters.

The BJP is hoping to retain power in the state following facing setbacks and winning fewer seats than expected, in both Maharashtra and Haryana assembly elections, in comparison to 2014 elections. In addition, several allies of NDA, this time chose to contest the 2019 assembly election on their own.
