Juno arrival at Jupiter News
Juno, the first solar-powered mission to Jupiter, using its special instruments, will peer beneath the swirling clouds, unlocking secrets about the planet and the entire solar system.
The Juno spacecraft is arriving at the giant planet on the evening of July 4, 2016, after an almost five-year journey.
Science instruments on board detected changes in the particles and fields around the spacecraft as it passed from an environment dominated by the interplanetary solar wind into Jupiter's magnetosphere.
As per NASA, the scene was captured by the mission's imaging camera, called JunoCam, which is designed to acquire high resolution views of features in Jupiter's atmosphere from very close to the planet.
