Kartarpur gurdwara News
India condemns Pakistan's action of transfer of power of Kartarpur Sahib Gurudwara.
The MEA calls it 'arbitrary' and terms it as a 'unilateral decision'.
Now, a non-Sikh body under the Evacuee Trust Property Board has control.
Imran Khan-led Pakistan government stooped to a new low.
Pakistan acts against the minorities in the country and this time it has taken away yet another right of the Sikh community.
Addressing a press conference MEA spokesperson Raveesh Kumar reiterated that India will follow the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) signed with Pakistan and go by the requirements provided in it. As per the MoU, Indians will need to carry a valid passport, said Kumar, adding that MoUs can't be changed unilaterally and it requires the consent of both the parties.
Earlier, Pakistan Prime Minister Imran Khan had announced the waive off of certain conditions for the Indian pilgrims who will visit the Gurdwara Darbar Sahib in Kartarpur of Narowal District. The Kartarpur Corridor will be inaugurated on November 9 ahead of the 550th birth anniversary of Guru Nanak on November 12.
Taking to Twitter, Khan made the announcements--1) the pilgrims won't need a passport but only a valid identity card and 2) they no longer have to register ten days in advance. He also waived off the $20 service fee but only on the days of the inauguration of Kartarpur Corridor (November 9) and on Guru Nanak's birth anniversary (November 12).
Taking to Twitter on Sunday, Badal called the move 'shameful' and 'atrocious'. Asking how a poor devotee will pay this amount, Badal criticised Pakistan saying that the Imran Khan government has made a business out of faith.
Sidhu, who was present at the swearing-in of his "friend" Imran Khan as the Pakistan Prime Minister on August 18 in Islamabad, has been claiming that he has been virtually instrumental in getting the Kartarpur corridor opened to devotees.
