Kerala panchayat elections 2015 News

The Communist Party of India (Marxist)-led Left Democratic Front (LDF) won 47 seats, Congress-led United Democratic Front 20 and the Bharatiya Janata Party 7 seats in the Kozhikode Corporation.

The district consist of six talukas known as Tirur, Ernad, Tirurangadi, Perinthalmanna, Nilambur and Ponnani.

Palakkad district is one of the 14 districts of Kerala. Situated at the foot of the Western Ghats, Palakkad is the gateway to Kerala from the north.

The Thrissur district has recorded 76.11% voter turnout. The elections were held on Nov 5.

Idukki district recorded a poll percentage of 70.2. The elections were held on Nov 2. 

Kottayam district posted an overall polling percentage of 79. The elections were held on Nov 5.  

Polling percentage is 77.5 in Alappuzha. The elections were held on Nov 5.  

There are six taluks and 11 Legislative Assembly Constituencies in Kollam district. 

There are six taluks and 14 Legislative Assembly Constituencies in Thiruvananthapuram district. 

Wayanad district is located in the northeast of Kerala with headquarters at Kalpetta town. The district was carved out on November 1, 1980 and is the 12th district in Kerala.

Kannur district has four talukas, namely Kannur, Taliparamba, Thalassery and Iritty. Thalassery is also known as Tellicherry.

Kasaragod is one of the 14 districts in Kerala. It was earlier part of the Kannur district but was carved out as a separate district on May 24, 1984.
