Actor Avinash Tiwary, who is enjoying a positive response to his streaming show 'Khakee: The Bihar Chapter', has shared how he approached his character. To keep things real, he learnt to chew khaini (tobacco) and ate food at local dhabas on the Jharkhand-Bihar border. Avinash plays an anti-hero gangster - Chandan Mahato in the series which is set in the early 2000s of Bihar and portrays the classic cop v/s gangster tiff.

Tracing the story of a young, earnest and dutiful police officer, Karan Tacker's character Amit Lodha is based on the real-life of IPS Amit Lodha. Expressing his gratitude towards the inspirational story and the guidance and support through Karan's journey to play his part, the actor penned a heartwarming post for the real IPS Amit Lodha.

Friday witnessed one of the most promising and explosive trailers on the internet as Neeraj Pandey's Khakee: The Bihar Chapter introduced the world to the world of crime and corruption in the first half of 2000s. Set in Bihar, the Netflix original features Karan Tacker as the righteous and idealistic police officer fighting against the menacing and brutal gangster played by Avinash Tiwary. Interestingly, according to a source report, Akshay Kumar was initially roped in to play the role of Amit Lodha, which is portrayed by Karan Tacker in the show.
